LIFE BIOGASNET project coordinator Dr. Xavier Gamisans, from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), presented the project during the 8th International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management Thessaloniki celebrated from 23rd – 26th of June.
During the event, the project’ coordinator delivered the presentation “Bioprocess for simultaneous biogas landfill desulfurization and nitrogen removal from leachate in a pilot plant” and talked about the current desulfurizing techniques and the importance of biogas desulfurization. On the other hand, Gamisans took this opportunity to present LIFE BIOGASNET, giving a general overview about the project and its main results, explaining the technology to be developed and sharing some results achieved during the first two years of the project.
Dr. Konstantinos Moustakas, project partner from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) is one of the organizers of the event.
The Conference was focused on discussing and addressing the significant issue of sustainable solid waste management through the promotion of safe practices and effective technologies, as well as to stimulate the interest of scientists, professionals and citizens in the field of municipal solid waste management.
