Xavier Gamisans, professor from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and LIFE Biogasnet coordinator, has participated in the webinar “Raising awareness on waste reduction in Europe”, organised by Finnova Foundation and celebrated within the context of the European Week for Waste Reduction on November 24th, 2022.
During the webinar, he presented LIFE BIOGASNET as a key European project in sustainability and resources management sector which is developing new cost-effective technology for biogas desulfurization based on biological processes, being able to obtain a high-quality biogas. The presentation included a general overview about the project and its main results, and a brief explanation of the technology developed, and some results achieved during this first two years of the project.
The purpose of this event was to share experiences, create synergies and promote alliances between projects working in the field of circular economy. The participants presented their project’s technologies, while raising awareness of the importance of waste reduction and prevention.
Apart from LIFE BIOGASNET, other European projects involved in the webinar were LIFE ECODIGESTION 2.0, LIFE INFUSION, BIOMASA-CAP, Ecoval Sudoe, G2G Algae and Hub Iberia Agrotech (HIBA).
The European Waste Reduction Week (EWWR) is the biggest campaign to raise awareness about waste prevention in Europe, driven by local and regional public authorities which bring together citizens, schools, businesses, NGOs and associations.
