Xavier Gamisans, project’s coordinator and professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), participated in the webinar “Green Energy Innovation: Opportunities for Regions and Municipalities through EU funds”, organised as part of the European Week of Regions and Cities (#EURegionsWeek) on October 16th 2023.
During the round table “Renewable Energy and Biogas: A Sustainable Approach to the Green Transition”, Gamisans introduced LIFE BIOGASNET as a key European project which has developed a new cost-effective and environmentally friendly technology for biogas desulfurization based on biological processes.

Additionally, the session also included the participation of representatives from Global Omnium, as well as LIFE BIODAPH20 and LIFE ANHIDRA, two LIFE-funded projects.
The webinar, focused on sharing experiences and building synergies with other LIFE projects in the field, brought together professionals, researchers, experts and European institutions such as the European Parliament Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and the Committee of the Regions’ ENVE Commission on Environment, Climate Change, and Energy.
The European Week of Regions and Cities is an annual four-day event in which cities and regions showcase their capacity to create growth and jobs, implement EU cohesion policy, and prove the importance of the local and regional level for good European governance.
