The Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), acting as the LIFE BIOGASNET coordinator, presented the project during the workshop “Novel trends for biological treatment and resource recovery from waste gas and biogas”, organised the RECYCLES project between January 22nd-24th, 2024, at the Engineering School of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB).
Xavier Gamisans, LIFE BIOGASNET coordinator and professor at the UPC, gave a speech entitled “LIFE Biogasnet: A novel & sustainable way to purify biogas”, which included an overview of the project and a presentation of the main results achieved during the project’s execution.
The LIFE BIOGASNET has developed an innovative cost-efficient and low-carbon footprint technology for biogas upgrading in order to boost the use of biogas as a sustainable energy source and reduce the carbon footprint of the energy cycle promoting the circular economy concept.
The RECYCLES workshop, organised by the Autonomous University of Barcelona, also included presentations from other projects working on biogas and sustainability areas, experiences of the RECYCLES partners and visits to the two full-scale biological gas treatment set-ups of the project.
