Last November, project’s partners from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the University of Cádiz (UCA), have visited the LIFE BIOGASNET’s prototype installed in Miramundo-Los Hardales solid waste lanfdill of Bioreciclaje de Cádiz (Spain).
During the visit, partners carried out actions related to the monitoring and control of the prototype and were able to check and monitor closely all the operating parameters and see the good and promising results that the prototype is giving.
The prototype installed and operated in Cádiz consists of two main equipments: a nitrification bioreactor, fed by landfill leachate, and an anoxic bioscrubber fed by the effluent from the nitrification bioreactor and the biogas from the landfill wells. This prototype will be operated for 12 months in the Cádiz facilities and then, it will be moved to a municipal solid waste management plant (MSWTP) in Athens (Greece).
